Piracymeter Authorized to Use Cloudflare Abuse Reporting System

March 16, 2026

Piracymeter has been authorized to use the abuse reporting system of Cloudflare, strengthening its ability to support large-scale copyright enforcement at the infrastructure level.

This authorization enables more efficient and scalable submission of abuse reports related to websites using Cloudflare’s pass-through security and content delivery network (CDN) services.

What is Cloudflare’s abuse reporting system?

Cloudflare’s abuse reporting system is designed to ensure that reports relating to websites using its services are delivered to the appropriate parties — including hosting providers and website operators capable of taking action.

To protect the system from misuse, automated reporting capabilities require authorization and are limited to trusted users.

Why this matters

A significant portion of pirated content is distributed through infrastructure layers that sit between users and origin servers.

Services like Cloudflare are often used to:

  • proxy traffic
  • deliver content through CDN infrastructure
  • abstract underlying hosting environments

Without efficient reporting channels at this level, enforcement becomes fragmented and difficult to scale.

What does this mean for our clients?

For copyright holders and streaming platforms, this translates into stronger and more effective protection:

  • Automated reporting at scale
Ability to handle large volumes of abuse reports efficiently
  • Infrastructure-level coverage
Enforcement extends beyond search visibility to the delivery layer
  • Improved effectiveness
More consistent action against infrastructure used to distribute pirated content

In practical terms, this ensures that enforcement efforts address not only where piracy is visible, but also how it is delivered.

Piracymeter continues to expand its enforcement capabilities across both search environments and infrastructure layers, ensuring comprehensive and scalable content protection.
